Two Charged For Dangerous Driving In Victoria County

RCMP say they’ve charged a driver and passenger after a man was seen sitting in an open hatchback while a vehicle was driving along a stretch of highway in Victoria County last week.

Video posted on social media shows the man sitting in the hatchback of a Mazda3 police say was traveling on the Trans-Canada in Port Bevis on Saturday.

Police say the car was driving at about the maximum speed in the hundred zone at the time, and the man was strapped in with an improvised safety restraint.

The 21-year-old Hubbards man who was driving the car was given a ticket for allowing someone to ride on a part of a vehicle not designed for passengers.

The passenger, a 25-year-old Moncton man, was given a ticket for riding on a part of a vehicle not designed for passengers.
