Regional Police Issue 42 COVID-19 Tickets Over The Easter Weekend

Cape Breton Regional Police say they issued 42 Summary Offence tickets for violating provincial COVID-19 orders over the 4-day Easter weekend.

Police say 26 people at 6 different homes were charged for not Social Distancing.

A Marine Atlantic passenger arriving from Newfoundland was charged for not isolating as required upon arriving in Nova Scotia.

Police say all other tickets were issued for failing to social distance and there was one violation for parking to go to a closed beach area.

Regional Police have now issued a total of 66 tickets violations under the provincial COVID-19 State of Emergency and have had more than 500 complaints.
