Sydney Pair Facing Social Distancing and Drug Charges
A Sydney man and woman are facing drug charges after Regional Police approached three people for breaking social distancing rules, yesterday afternoon.
Police say officers spotted the pair standing at the corner of Falmouth and George Street, speaking with a third person sitting in a parked vehicle.
They say, when officers approached the car, the pair tried to hide a bag they were carrying
The 36-year-old man and woman were arrested and later charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking in Clonazepam.
The woman was also charged with Obstruction of Justice for providing false information to police.
The pair and the person in the car were each issued a Summary Offence Ticket for Failing to Social Distance under the Health Protection Act.
