Ottawa Offering Major Loan To EverWind

The federal government says it’s planning to provide a loan worth tens of millions of dollars to a company developing a green energy hub in Point Tupper, Richmond County.

Ottawa says it’s reached an agreement in principle on terms for a loan of $125 million to EverWind Fuels, but it adds the deal is still awaiting “final due diligence.”

It goes on to say the loan will support the production of hydrogen that will be able to be used in Canada and exported to markets in Germany and around the world.

EverWind has partnered with area First Nations on the project.
