Cape Breton singer Lucy MacNeil picked up two awards at the Canadian Folk Music Awards in Ottawa on the weekend.
MacNeil took the honours for Traditional Album of the Year and Traditional Singer of the Year for her album “Angels Whisper.”
MacNeil says in a Facebook post she’s completely over the moon about receiving the two awards and being celebrated on her first solo album in her 50’s.
She’s also nominated for the East Coast Music Award for Traditional Release of the Year at next month’s awards in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador.
