Great white sharks have returned to waters off Cape Breton this summer.
The sub-adult male Quint was pinged in waters just off Scatarie Island at 1:05 this morning by the Ocearch Shark Tracker.
Quint is 2.9 metres long and weighs 266 kilograms.
Farther east from where Quint was spotted, a signal from Ripple’s tag was picked up shortly before 7:45 this morning.
Ripple is also a sub-adult male and he’s 3.5 metres long and weighs 353 kilograms.
These are the first great white detections off the Island so far this season.
