Former Firefighter Given Probation

A former member of the Florence Volunteer Fire Department was sentenced to 30 months on probation today in connection to a string of deliberately set fires on the Northside.

Gary Richard Luker, from Florence, was originally charged with two counts of arson involving property damage and two counts of mischief over $5,000 involving property damage.

Last month he entered guilty pleas to two counts of mischief over $5,000.

Two other former Florence Fire Department members are serving prison time after pleading guilty to counts of arson.
