by Statistics Canada says Cape Breton’s unemployment rate was 7.5% in August.
That’s down a tenth of a percentage point from July, and down by a percentage point from August of last year.
Meanwhile, the national jobless rate remained unchanged from July in August at 6.4%.
However, the federal agency says 42,000 jobs were lost in the country last month.
Nova Scotia’s unemployment rate in in August was 6.5% and that’s unchanged from July.
