Two Students Arrested After Memorial High Gun Scare

Regional Police say they arrested two boys after a gun scare at Memorial High in Sydney Mines, this morning.

Police were called to the school after a staff member reported seeing a student outside the school with what looked like a gun.

Police say officers used video surveillance and information from witnesses to identify two students.

The students were taken from their class and police say they found two air soft replica pistols on them.

They were arrested for Mischief and charges are pending.

Meanwhile, the Cape Breton-Victoria Regional Centre for Education says students can stay at the school for the rest of the day where counseling services will be available or parents can come and pick up their kids.
