Two Companies Shortlisted To Replace MV Leif Ericsson

Two companies have been shortlisted to build a new ferry for Marine Atlantic to replace the MV Leif Ericsson.

The Crown Corporation says the UK’s Stena North Sea Ltd and Sweden’s Rederi AB Gotland have been chosen.

It says the new ferry will have a roll on / roll off design and will carry commercial and non-commercial traffic.

The new ferry is expected to go into service in fiscal year 2023.
