Trial Scheduled For Former Nurse
An arrest warrant will not be issued for a former nurse who didn’t show up in court yesterday.
48 year-old Valerie MacGillivray from Glace Bay was charged with forgery after the death of a man on the grounds of the Regional Hospital in Sydney last year.
Her lawyer was in court on her behalf today, when a four-day trial was set to begin on December 16th.
MacGillivray continues her release ahead of a pre-trial conference on October 9th.
42 year-old Tammy Carrigan-Warner from Sydney River has also been charged with forgery in the case and is due back in court on April 30th to set a trial date.
Both have been fired from their nursing jobs.
The 79 year-old man was a patient at the hospital and was found unconscious on the sidewalk outside the building in February of last year.
Police say documents on the man’s status at the hospital were forged.
