Sydney Mines Woman And Her Daughters Due Back In Court On Tax Fraud Charges

A Sydney Mines woman and her three daughters charged with 3.6 million dollars in tax fraud are due back in court today.

74 year-old Lydia Saker along with 47 year-old Georgette Young from Sydney, 45 year-old Angela MacDonald who lives in Kentville, and 23 year-old Nadia Saker from Leitches Creek are all facing charges.

10 companies owned and operated by the family are named in the case.

The four are accused of using their companies to defraud the federal government by claiming Goods and Services and Harmonized Sales Tax refunds they didn’t quality for.

The charges date to between 2010 and 2015.
