Seal Island Bridge Down To One Lane For Inspection

Traffic on the Seal Island Bridge is down to one lane starting today as a million dollar inspection is carried out on the structure.

Engineers are looking for any signs of cracking on the 50 year-old bridge.

The provincial Department of Transportation says the one-lane closures will continue for two weeks.

It says traffic won’t be affected while an underwater inspection is done.

However, there will be another week of traffic delays while an inspection is done on the very top of the bridge.

The initial work is taking place from 7:00 in the morning until 7:00 at night until June 7th.
