Raitt, Clarke Tour New Marine Atlantic Facility
Federal Transport Minister Lisa Raitt toured Marine Atlantic’s new terminal building in North Sydney today as the facility enters its final stage of construction. Raitt, who’s a native of Whitney Pier, was joined at the terminal building by CBRM Mayor Cecil Clarke and Marine Atlantic President and CEO Paul Griffin. The facility is funded through the a five-year 521 million dollar investment made in 2010 for the purpose of revitalizing of Marine Atlantic’s fleet and shore facilities. The building’s design, site preparation and construction will cost an estimated 20 million dollars. It’s scheduled to be in operation by the spring.
