Province Tightens Mask Directive, Announces Easing of Long-Term Care Restrictions
Non-medical masks will be mandatory on municipal transit buses and ferries in the province starting a week from today.
The order also covers school buses, community transit vehicles and private taxis and shuttles.
Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Robert Strang says he hopes the move will help people get used to wearing masks more often.
Children under two and people with some medical conditions are exempt from the order.
The province also announced today people in long-term care homes will be allowed to have up to five outdoor visitors starting on Wednesday of next week.
Up to three people will be allowed to visit inside the homes but only one at a time and if they wear a mask.
