Province Projecting Smaller Budget Surplus

The projected small surplus for the 2019-20 provincial budget has grown smaller.

Provincial Finance Minister Karen Casey says the surplus is now expected to be 30.8 million dollars in an update provided this morning.

That’s down 2.8 million from budget day in April.

However, Casey says the budget is still on track to be balanced.

Total revenue is projected to be up 119.8 million.

However, overall expenses are expected to go up by 129.7 million.
