Cardinal Kevin Farrell says Francis returned to the home of the Father at 7:35 local time, this morning.
Farrell says the late pope’s entire life was dedicated to the service of the Lord and of his Church.
Francis was the first Latin American pope.
The 88 year-old suffered various ailments in his 12 year papacy and was released last month from hospital where he was treated for double pneumonia.
