Parking Meter App Now Offered

People in the Regional Municipality can pay for parking at municipal parking meters with their smart phones starting today.

Fredericton, New Brunswick company HotSpot is offering the technology.

People can download the company’s parking meter app for 2 dollars a month or 20 dollars a year.

They can then use their phones to pay the parking meter.

They can also use their phones to top up the meter, remotely and get refundable credits for parking meter time not used.

The Sydney Waterfront District is offering two free hours of parking a day starting today for the first week of the service.

The service is also offered in Halifax, Moncton, Fredericton, Saint John and Charlottetown.
