Nurses’ Plea Hearings Adjourned

Plea hearings were adjourned today for two nurses charged after the death of a man on the grounds of the Regional Hospital.

41 year-old Tammy Carrigan-Warner, from Sydney River, and 47 year-old Valerie MacGillivary, from Glace Bay, are both facing a count of forgery.

The 79 year-old man was a patient at the hospital and was found unresponsive on the sidewalk outside the building on February 23rd.

Police say documents on the man’s status were forged.

His name has not been released.

Carrigan-Warner and MacGillivary have been fired from their jobs at the hospital.

Both are continuing their release on conditions and are due back in court for plea hearings on August 23rd.
