Number Of People Without A Family Doctor Visiting Regional Has More Than Doubled

The provincial NDP says the number of people without a family doctor going to the Emergency Department at the Regional Hospital in Sydney has more than doubled under the Liberal government

It says a Freedom of Information request shows the number of visits increased by 125 per cent from 2013 to 2018.

Last year, 3749 people who didn’t have a family doctor visited the Regional Hospital seeking medical attention.

That’s up from 1666 people in 2013.

The party says the number of people without a family doctor going to Emergency Departments across the province increased 112 per cent between 2013 and 2018.
