The Health Authority says there were 66,768 people on the Need a Family Practice Registry as on January 1st.
It says that’s a drop of 1,722 from December 1st.
Nova Scotia Health says the number accounts for people newly added to the registry, people removed because they found a nurse practitioner or family doctor and people removed because they were found to no longer need a provider for a variety of reasons.
The percentage of the population on the registry is now 6.3%.
The next update will be provided in early February.
