NS Reports Two More COVID Deaths, 84 New Cases
The province is reporting two more COVID-19 deaths today along with 84 new cases.
It says those who died were men in their 70’s in the Central Zone.
There have now been 76 COVID-19-related deaths in Nova Scotia.
Of the new cases reported today, 11 are in the Eastern Zone that includes Cape Breton.
66 are in the Central Zone, six are in the Northern Zone and one is in the Western Zone.
The province’s Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Robert Strang is asking people to keep following public health rules over the Victoria Day weekend so cases can be kept down.
Strang continues to urge people in the Sydney area to get tested because of the community spread there and he says testing will be set up in surrounding communities in the coming days.
Meanwhile, the province is also reporting 197 recoveries today and the total amount of confirmed active cases is now 1,028.
84 people in the province are now in hospital with COVID-19, including 21 in intensive care.
There’s now a total of 130 confirmed active cases in the Cape Breton County Community Health Network and two in the Inverness, Victoria and Richmond Community Health Network.
