NS Labour Dept. Announces New Labour Mobility Agreement
A press release from the Nova Scotia Department of Labour says that Canada’s premiers have approved a new plan for apprentices who move between provinces and territories. Premier Stephen McNeil says that the plan will lead to the recognition of a Canadian apprentice’s training and hours worked, regardless of the province or territory in which the training and work experience took place. McNeil also says that the agreement will make it easier for employers to get the skill workers that they need. The details of the plan were laid out as Canada’s Premiers attended the Council of the Federation meeting in Ottawa on Friday. The plan is expected to take effect next year.
