NS Approaching 300 Confirmed COVID-19 Cases

Health officials have announced 31 new cases of COVID-19 in the province, bringing the total across the province to 293.

The latest numbers show 3 new cases in the Provincial Health Authority’s Eastern Zone that includes Cape Breton.

The total number of cases in the zone is now 27.

The number has gone up to 197 in the Central Zone that includes Halifax, where about 67 percent of the cases in the province have been found.

The Health Department says there’s now community spread and they’re trying to increase lab capacity to do more testing.

Ten people are in hospital in the province because of the virus while 64 have recovered.
