North Sydney Fire Forces Family From Home

A North Sydney family has been displaced from their home after a weekend fire.

Firefighters say they got the call to the blaze at 39 Peppett Street, shortly after 11:00 on Friday night.

They say the people inside managed to escape, unharmed and are believed to be staying with family and friends.

The North Sydney Volunteer Fire Department says the building suffered extensive smoke and water damage.

The cause is still under investigation.
