A new gold mine is scheduled to open in Guysborough County, next year.
The Goldboro gold mine, owned by NexGold Mining Corporation got its industrial approval today.
The province says the mine is expected to create 735 new jobs and contribute $2.1-billion to Nova Scotia’s gross domestic product.
This approval comes after seven years of consultation and study.
NexGold has benefits agreements with the Municipality of the District of Guysborough and the Assembly of Nova Scotia Mi’kmaw Chiefs.
