by Students across the province will be returning to class on Wednesday of next week, except in Sydney and in the Halifax area.
Premier Iain Rankin made the announcement this afternoon.
Schools will remain closed in the Sydney Academy and Riverview families of schools for now.
The Sydney Academy group also includes Sherwood Park, Whitney Pier Memorial, Brookland Elementary, Shipyard, Cusack and Harbourside.
The Riverview group also includes Malcolm Munroe, Sydney River Elementary and Riverside, as well as Marion Bridge, Mountainview, Coxheath and Robin Foote elementary schools.
Also staying closed are all Acadian schools in the Sydney area.
The province also announced today child-care centres will be allowed to return to full capacity on Wednesday.
