Medical Students Will Train In North Sydney and New Waterford Under New Program
Four Dalhousie University medical students will be spending their entire third-year in North Sydney and New Waterford under a new program for the province.
The Medical Student Clerkship Program is being launched in the Cape Breton communities.
The program is designed to introduce future doctors to practicing in rural communities.
Normally third-year students get short placements in various communities.
The students in North Sydney and New Waterford will work under the supervision of local doctors during their 48-week clerkship.
They’ll also work with other specialties and health-care providers in the community.
