This year, daylight saving time (AKA daylight savings time) begins in early March—Sunday, March 12th at 2 a.m. That means you’ll lose an hour of sleep (which you’ll get back in November when daylight saving time ends).
At this time, we “spring forward” one hour! The general idea is that this allows us all to make better use of natural daylight: moving the clocks forward one hour in the spring grants us more daylight during summer evenings.
