Man Facing Several Charges After North Sydney Car Chase

Regional Police have laid a number of charges against a 31-year-old North Sydney man after police chased a car in North Sydney, yesterday morning.

Jason Kenneth Wayne Timbury faces counts of Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Impaired Driving, Failure to Remain at the Scene of an Accident and Flight from Police.

He also faces charges of a Taking a Motor Vehicle without Consent, Operating a Motor Vehicle without a Valid Driver’s License, Mischief and Breaches of Court conditions.

Police say they first got called about a Mazda car being taken from a North Sydney home at 7:00 yesterday morning.

They say when officers later found the car, the driver wouldn’t stop.

The officers continued to follow the car at what police say was a safe speed and distance.

However, police say the car rear-ended a police vehicle and a vehicle parked on the street at King and High Streets at around 9:30.

They say no one was hurt and a man was arrested.
