Higher Power Rates Coming Into Effect

The Energy Board says higher power rates will come into effect starting tomorrow.

The board has already approved Nova Scotia Power’s request for rate hikes but the increases were delayed after the regulator asked the utility to make some minor changes.

The board now says, starting tomorrow, rates for residential customers will go up by an average of 3.1% with a further average increase of 3.9% on January 1st.
