Hearing Today In Case Of Nurse Charged After Death On Regional Hospital Grounds

A hearing will take place in Sydney today to determine whether newly released records can be used at the trial of a nurse facing a count of forgery.

Licensed practical nurse 48 year-old Valerie MacGillivray from Glace Bay was charged after a patient was found frozen to death outside the Regional Hospital in February of last year.

The records from the Health Authority were just released to the Crown earlier this month and come with an expectation of privacy.

Today’s hearing will decide if some or all of the documents should be released to the defence.

Registered nurse 43 year-old Tammy Carrigan-Warner from Sydney River also faces a count of forgery in the case.

Her trial began this month and is due to continue on January 29th.
