Long term care workers at the Northside Community Guest Home in North Sydney have voted to go on strike.
The workers are represented by Local 1876 of the Canadian Union of Public Employees.
CUPE says the workers voted 97% in favour of a strike, with the main issues being wages and overwork because of understaffing.
The local is among a large number of others across the province that have voted to strike in recent weeks.
CUPE filed for conciliation last week after talks with the province stalled.
