George Street detours as municipality replaces water mains

Detours are in place along George Street in Sydney this weekend as the municipality starts a water main replacement project.
George Street is closed between Byng Avenue and Glenwood Street all weekend, and traffic is being detoured between Argyle and Brookland Streets.
Traffic will also be detoured starting on Monday, until the expected completion of the project in five weeks.
The municipality says water customers in the area can expect occasional interruptions during the project.
It says customers will get 24 hours notice of any planned shutdown.
