Gas & Diesel Down Thanks To Excise Tax Removal

The price of gas took a big drop overnight thanks to the removal of the federal excise tax on gas and diesel.

Gas went down by 11.5 cents a litre and now goes for a minimum of $1.69.1 in Cape Breton.

Diesel dropped by 4.7 cents.

The minimum price for a litre of diesel on the Island is now $2.08.5 cents.

Ottawa says the federal excise tax removal on gas and diesel will be in effect until September 7th as a measure to deal with rising fuel costs because of the U-S/Iran war.
