Gas and Diesel Down After Interrupter Clause Invoked
The price of gas is six cents a litre cheaper this morning after the Utility and Review Board invoked its interrupter clause, overnight.
Gas now goes for a minimum of $1.15.2 cents a litre in Cape Breton.
The price of diesel went down by 4.8 cents and diesel now costs a minimum of $1.14.9 cents a litre on the Island.
The UARB considers using the interrupter clause when the price fluctuates by a range of plus or minus six to eight cents a litre.
The regulated price is based on an average of the daily market price for gasoline and diesel oil on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
The price of gas and diesel could change yet again overnight tomorrow during the Review Board’s weekly price adjustment.
