Garbage Pickup Cancelled, Winter Parking Rules In Effect

The Regional Municipality says garbage collection is cancelled tomorrow because of the significant snowfall in the forecast and the Northside drop-off site will also be closed.

Meanwhile, Regional Police are asking for cooperation with snow removal and safety efforts and they’re reminding drivers winter parking regulations are now in effect.

That means drivers have to keep their vehicles off the street between 1 and 6:00 in the morning, as well as during snowfall and two hours after snow stops falling.

Police say any vehicles getting in the way of snow removal will be ticketed and towed.

People are also asked not to put snow from their driveways onto sidewalks or streets.

Obstructing streets and sidewalks with snow can carry a fine of $100.
