CBU Official Facing Sex Charges Has Retired

Cape Breton University says an administrator charged with sexual assault is no longer employed by the institution.

59-year-old John Shea MacInnis was CBU’s Director of Marketing and Recruitment.

He was suspended with pay in October when he was charged with sexual assault, sexual interference and invitation to sexual touching, involving a person under the age of 16.

CBU says MacInnis retired at the end of December.

He’s due back in court in June.
