Arrest Made In Connection To CBU Threat
Cape Breton Regional Police have filed charges in connection to Thursday’s weapons threat at Cape Breton University. 23-year-old Bertram William Jr. Bernard, of Eskasoni, is facing charges of uttering a threat and mischief. Police say a threat was made over social media alleging that someone was bringing a gun to the CBU campus, but no weapon was found when police conducted a search. Through further investigation, police say they were able to identify Bernard as a suspect, and an arrest was made yesterday. Bernard has since been released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Sydney Provincial Court on December 7th.
