Alfie MacLeod Will Run For Conservative Nomination in Cape Breton-Canso

Sydney River – Mira – Louisbourg MLA Alfie MacLeod has officially announced his intention to seek the Conservative nomination in the federal riding of Cape Breton – Canso.

The move comes after long-time Liberal MP Rodger Cuzner announced he doesn’t plan to re-offer for the seat in this fall’s election.

MacLeod says he’s motivated and inspired by the values he and Conservative Leader Andrew Scheer share, including fiscal responsibility and honest discussions with Canadians.

MacLeod’s Progressive Conservative colleague Eddie Orrell has already announced his plans to make the leap to federal politics.

The Northside Westmount MLA will look for the Conservative nomination in Sydney-Victoria.

Liberal MP Mark Eyking is not reoffering in the riding.
