Stats Canada says Cape Breton’s unemployment rate was 7.6% in July.
That’s down sharply from 9.3% in June and down slightly from 7.7% in July of last year.
Meanwhile, the national jobless rate edged down by a tenth of a percentage point in July to 6.4% and that’s the lowest level in two years.
The federal agency says 75,000 jobs were created in the country last month.
Nova Scotia’s unemployment rate in July was 6.5%, down slightly from 6.6% in June.
