The price of diesel went up overnight after the Energy Board used the interrupter clause to change the price early this week.
Diesel increased by 6.3 cents a litre and now goes for a minimum of $2.12.2 cents a litre in Cape Breton.
The board says the change was necessary because of a significant shift in the market price for diesel.
Meanwhile, the price of gas didn’t change.
Gas still goes for a minimum of $1.85 cents a litre on the Island.
