Stats Canada says Cape Breton’s unemployment rate in was 11.6 % in April.
That’s down from 12.1% in March and 13.1% in April of last year.
Meanwhile, the national jobless rate edged up two percentage points in April to 6.9%.
The federal agency says the increase was driven by more people looking for work last month.
Nova Scotia’s unemployment rate in April was down a tenth of a percentage point from March at 7.1%.
