That’s down from 3.8 percent in September.
The federal agency says the drop was largely a result of lower prices for gasoline in October.
It says the biggest contributors to inflation last month continued to be mortgage interest costs, food bought from stores and rent.
Meanwhile, Nova Scotia’s inflation rate for October was the third highest in the country at 3.3 percent.
