New Waterford Couple Raise Money For Nursing Home iPads
A couple of well-known, Cape Breton entertainers have raised money for a good cause during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Stephen Muise and Jenn Sheppard from New Waterford recently held an online fundraiser called iPads for seniors.
Their original goal was to raise money to buy iPads for the nursing home in their community.
But Muise says they went well over that mark and raised 20-thousand dollars with the help of the business community on the Island.
He says that’s enough money for iPads for all nursing homes on the Island.
People in the homes will use the iPads to communicate with family and friends while visitor restrictions remain in place.
Muise says they also raised 15-hundred dollars for palliative care in Cape Breton.
