50 Year-old Man Accused Of Sexual Assault At Glace Bay Home

Regional Police say a 50 year-old man was arrested after a sexual assault at a home in Glace Bay last night.

Police say they were called to the home on Lower MacLean Street at about 11:00 when someone reported a man was threatening a woman with a knife.

They say the man was arrested when he came to the door with a weapon.

A 22 year-old Sydney woman was brought to hospital with a non-life threatening hand injury but it was later learned she’d been sexually assaulted.

Police say the man and woman know each other.

The man is still in custody and police say charges are pending.

The man’s name has yet to be released.
