Delay To Start Of Lobster Season in Eastern Cape Breton

Poor weather has delayed the start of lobster season in eastern Cape Breton.

Lobster fishermen in Area 27 from Bay St. Lawrence to Forchu were supposed to set their traps today.

But the season is now scheduled to start on Friday.

Meanwhile, the season opened in southern Inverness County on May 3rd after a delay because of high winds.

Fishermen in northern Inverness County set their traps on May 6th, while the season opened in the Bras d’Or Lakes on May 1st.
