Today is Davis Day.

93 years ago today, William Davis was shot and killed by company police during a protest by striking miners near New Waterford.

Many other miners were injured in the confrontation.

Davis Day ceremonies will get underway at 10:00 this morning at Calvin United Church in New Waterford.

A wreath laying ceremony will follow at Davis Square on Plummer Avenue.
