Quickly chill beer
Here’s an easy trick to cool beer down fast. Place beer cans (or bottles) into a cooler or even a big bucket or a bowl, cover with ice and add cold water until the beer is submerged. Add a bit more ice on top and sprinkle with enough salt to cover the top layer of ice. The beer will be chilled in about five minutes.
Repel mosquitos with a fan
Just set up an electric fan on the deck, turn it on and effortlessly keep away pesky mosquitos; they are weak fliers and will avoid the strong breeze.
Water-jug lamp
If your power goes out or you just want a little extra light by the campfire, strap a head lamp to a gallon bottle full of water for a bigger glow than you’d get from the lamp alone. No head lamp? A flashlight pressed against the bottle will do.
