SIRT Investigating Coxheath Crash

The province’s police watchdog is investigating after a car Regional Police tried to stop fled and crashed in Coxheath on the weekend.

Police say the three young men inside the car were taken to the Regional Hospital in Sydney with serious injuries.

One of them has since been airlifted to hospital in Halifax.

They add they started getting calls shortly before 8:30 on Saturday night about a car being driven erratically in the Keltic Drive and Coxheath Road area.

They go on to say a car matching the description in the parking lot of Coxheath Arena drove off when police turned on their lights and sirens.

Police say officers followed the car, but stopped the chase because the vehicle was being driven in an unsafe manner.

Police add they later found the car after it crashed farther down Coxheath Road.
